All Information About International Human Solidarity Day 2020
International Human Solidarity Day is celebrated annually on 20 Dec. This is the annual United Nations Day. It is a day to raise awareness of the importance of unity.
International Human Solidarity Day
The United Nations International Day for Humanitarian Assistance is celebrated on December 20 every year. The aim is to remind people of the importance of unity in alleviating poverty. Unity is defined as an awareness of shared interests and goals that creates a psychological sense of unity. Unity also represents the bonds in society that unite people.
Solidarity means mutual support between groups. Unity or agreement in feelings or actions, especially between people with similar interests, indicates friendship and underlines the global culture in which we live.
According to the United Nations Millennium Declaration, unity is one of the fundamental values necessary for international relations. The statement also states that global challenges must be met so that costs and burdens are shared equally. This is in accordance with the principles of equity and social justice.
The United Nations (UN) General Assembly recognized unity in response to a resolution 60/209 to establish this international holiday in December 2005.
"One of the fundamental and universal values that should underlie relations between peoples in the Twenty-first century."
International Human Solidarity Day is partly derived from the Millennium Declaration, in which world leaders said: “Global challenges need to be addressed in a way that allocates costs and burdens appropriately, in accordance with the basic principles of equity and social justice.
Those who suffer or at least benefit from it deserve the help of those who have benefited the most. “The Millennium Declaration is the first attempt to create a goal for United Nations countries to create a more just and sustainable world. This initiative listed eight (8) specific goals with a deadline of January 2015. Unfortunately, they did not meet the original goal, but they made a lot of progress and decided to list other goals to be achieved. by 2030. These are called the Sustainable Development Goals.
The Sustainable Development Goals are a list of seventeen (17) goals that the United Nations Member States have agreed to achieve by 2030 and commit world leaders to:
Zero Hunger
No Poverty
Good Health and Well-being
Quality Education

How to celebrate International Human Solidarity Day
International Human Solidarity Day is a global celebration and not a public holiday. International Human Solidarity Day is a time when we all look at our subconscious biases and think about what we can do to make the world more inclusive and just.
On this day, the United Nations is pushing for new initiatives to eradicate poverty. The day serves as a reminder for governments to fulfill their commitments to international treaties. Events around the world to promote the importance of solidarity. These events include presentations, workshops, conferences, and panel discussions.
It can be something personal, like making a donation to an organization or speaking up when you see someone stalking you. Or it could be a call to action across the organization. How do you want to influence?
Check your subconscious bias
Everyone has unconscious prejudices. Society is built on barriers, rankings, and rules that were previously only for the highest percentage. These tricks and rules have taken root in us through a lot of socialization, but they can be changed and as agents of free will, we can rebel against the social rules and embrace ourselves and others. Those who live without remorse. The next time you come to a conclusion, judge it from someone's point of view or imagine classifying people as "bad" or "good", ask yourself why this is your way of thinking. HIS. Is it really based? Or does it come from somewhere?
Observe your language
Being "politically correct" is often a burning issue. I challenge you to stop and think about why some people are so supportive and why others are so against it. Essentially, being politically correct is about responsibility and culture change. It is a matter of solidarity; be able to empathize with groups other than your own and support their needs. Usually, this language change revolves around respect and inclusion. For example, using the terms "person" or "person" instead of "male and female" includes both nonbinary and trans * people. Does your language convey solidarity?
Become a leader
An upstander is the opposite of a spectator: it is someone who intervenes in negative or hostile situations. This can mean a number of things in your daily life. If you see acts of phobia (racism, xenophobia, homophobia, violence against women), speak out in solidarity with those who are oppressed. you can guide people who go to a planned maternity hospital safely into the building, protecting them from protesters.
Educate yourself, then act according to your possibilities
There is no obligation for anyone to educate you on the issue of discrimination other than yourself. Understanding why things are hurtful or rude, what the side effects are, and so on, allows you to empathize with the person affected. Once you have empathy and know-how common acts of violence and subtle exclusion are, you will be better prepared to pay attention and intervene when you see things. Or you will be more aware of yourself and be able to keep your unconscious prejudices in check.
